On October 26, 2016, Health Canada and 2blueducks jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made one-piece pajamas.
The recalled products are one-piece pajamas with socks, red/white stripes, and the words Dr. Seuss’s Thing1 and Thing2 embroidered on the clothes. This jumpsuit is 100% cotton. The product code FTSLP-C22-9M and UPC code 014292981930 are printed on the sales label.
About 450 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada from August 2013 to August 2016. Reasons for the recall: Health Canada’s sampling testing determined that the recalled products did not meet the requirements of Canadian law regarding the flammability of children’s pajamas. Loose-fitting children’s pajamas are more likely to come into contact with ignition sources such as stoves, candles and matches than tight-fitting pajamas. Once ignited, loose pajamas will burn quickly and may cause severe burns over large areas of a child’s body. Therefore, loose pajamas are not allowed to contain cotton. To date, Health Canada and 2blueducks have not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the use of this product.
Health Canada advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund or email [email protected]. Canada implements voluntary recall of Chinese-made one-piece pajamas
