EU notifies many children’s clothing of prominent drawstring issues

A few days ago, the European Union’s “Non-Food Rapid Warning System” issued a notice stating that the drawstring problem of many children’s clothing is outstanding. At present, the problematic products have been forced to withdraw from the market by the notified country.
Judging from the feedback from notifying countries such as Iceland, Hungary, Cyprus and other countries, most of the origins of these problematic products are from China, and the risks are: drawing the rope will cause some kind of injury, such as neck drawing, which will cause suffocation and trousers. Drawstrings can cause children to snag and get entangled, and trousers drawstrings can restrict activities, etc.
According to the European standard EN14682 “Safety Requirements for Ropes and Drawstrings of Children’s Clothing”, the length of hats, neck drawstrings or drawstrings with free ends for children aged 7 to 14 years shall not exceed 75mm (7.5cm). Cords shall not be elasticated, except for epaulettes and neck ties. The children’s clothing that was notified did not meet the standard requirements in terms of hat neck drawstrings, trouser leg drawstrings, waist ties and other indicators.
