The new spinning factory in the Jizhak Industrial Zone in Uzbekistan has been put into operation. The yarn factory has an investment of US$13.5 million and plans to produce 7,500 tons of yarn annually, 50% of which will be sold domestically in Uzbekistan and the remaining products will be exported. The spinning mill is funded by Uzbekistan’s Asaka Bank loan and the company’s own funds. Textile equipment is mainly imported from Turkey and Switzerland. The spinning mill is expected to create 200 jobs.
At present, the cotton processing volume in Jizzak Prefecture, Uzbekistan only accounts for 9% of the cotton production. From 2014 to 2016, the region plans to increase the cotton processing level to 68.5% and increase the cotton yarn production to 10 to 12 times. . From 2013 to 2015, Jizhak Prefecture plans to build 243 industrial projects with an investment of US$340 million.
