On October 22, 2013, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and TrailCrest Company jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made children’s hooded sweatshirts.

The name of the recalled product is a children’s hooded sweatshirt with a zipper and tether at the neck. The product label is sewn on the outside of the sweatshirt. The product number is 29121. The TrailCrest company’s logo is located on the inside of the collar of the sweatshirt. It was sold on the Zulily.com website from November 2012 to February 2013, priced at approximately US$15.

The number of products recalled this time is approximately 350. The reason for the recall is that the tether between the collar and the hat may cause suffocation in children. So far, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and TrailCrest have not received any reports of accidents.

For this reason, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends that children should keep away from the sweatshirt, and consumers should remove the tether to avoid the risk of suffocation, or contact TrailCrest immediately to obtain a refund.
