Fujian’s garment exports grow rapidly

The latest statistics from Fuzhou Customs show that in the first three quarters of this year, clothing and high-tech products in Fujian Province have experienced rapid growth. Among them, the total export value of clothing and clothing accessories was US$12.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 28.4%; the total export value of high-tech products was US$11.42 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10.6%.

The export markets for clothing are mainly the European Union, ASEAN and the United States. “In the first three quarters, the province’s clothing exports to the EU were US$3.37 billion, an increase of 25%, accounting for 26.1% of the province’s total clothing exports in the same period.”

High-tech products also performed well in the first three quarters, with exports to Hong Kong ranking first in both export value and growth. The rapidly growing product categories are mainly concentrated in computer and communication technology, aerospace technology, optoelectronic technology, life science technology and electronic technology.
