According to analysis by the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), in the upcoming new fiscal year, India’s cotton output is expected to reach 6.4 million tons, double that of 2004; while Pakistan is expected to only reach the country’s 2004 production Annual output is 2 million tons. The committee also analyzed and forecasted data from the world’s major cotton-producing countries from the 2003-04 fiscal year to the 2013-14 fiscal year, and believed that the cotton planting situation in the northern hemisphere in the 2013-14 fiscal year was promising; however, global cotton production may hit a record from 2011-12 of 27.8 million tonnes reduced to 26.4 million tonnes in 2012-13 and further reduced to 25 million tonnes in 2013-14.
