Recently, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) proposed to solicit comments on revising textile labeling rules and regulations in accordance with the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act. The deadline is July 8, and the content is: (1) Integration Updated ISO2076:2010(E) standard; (2) Allow certain hanging labels not to disclose all fiber content information of products; (3) Solve e-commerce issues by revising invoice terms, invoice or other bill definitions; (4) Update Guarantee terms, the supplier’s signed guarantee under penalty of perjury will be replaced by a certificate that is updated annually and the corresponding form is modified in accordance with the Textile, Fur and Wool Act for continued guarantees to the FTC; and (5) clarify some other provisions.
The Textile Fiber Products Identification Act and Rules require marketers to label textile products covered by each regulation. The information disclosed includes (1) the common name and the percentage composition of the product’s fiber weight; (2) the manufacturer or other The name of the company responsible for the business or, in its place, the company registration identification number; and (3) the name of the country in which the product is processed or manufactured.
