In February 2010, the national trade in goods continued to maintain rapid growth year-on-year. Textile and apparel exports accelerated, with growth exceeding the average level of trade in goods. Among them, clothing exports stopped falling and nearly doubled year-on-year. Due to the Spring Festival factors, export values in February fell back compared with January, with negative growth month-on-month.
According to data released by the customs, the total import and export value of national trade in goods in February 2010 was US$181.43 billion, an increase of 45.2% over the same period last year (the same below) and a decrease of 11.5% from January. Among them, exports were US$94.52 billion, a year-on-year increase of 45.7%, and a month-on-month decrease of 13.7%. Imports amounted to US$86.91 billion, a year-on-year increase of 44.7% and a month-on-month decrease of 8.9%.
The total import and export value of national trade in goods from January to February was US$386.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 44.8%, of which exports were US$204.08 billion, an increase of 31.4%, and imports were US$182.32 billion, an increase of 63.6%.
In February 2010, the total export value of textiles and clothing was US$12.638 billion, a year-on-year increase of 89.3%. Among them, textile exports were US$4.567 billion, an increase of 78.2%, and clothing exports were US$8.071 billion, an increase of 96.3%.
Textile and clothing exports in February fell by 18.8% compared with January, of which textiles fell by 18.2% and clothing fell by 19.2%.
From January to February, the cumulative exports of textiles and clothing were US$28.24 billion, a year-on-year increase of 29.0%, an increase of 10.2% over the same period in 2008, of which textile exports were US$10.16 billion, a year-on-year increase of 39.5%, a year-on-year increase of 10.6%; clothing exports were 180.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23.8% and a year-on-year increase of 10% in 2008.
