Italian textile industry sales revenue fell .%

According to recent data from Italian fashion research institution PAMBIANCO, the Italian textile industry has returned to a downward trajectory after a two-year recovery period. In 2008, the sales revenue of the Italian textile industry reached nearly 9 billion euros, a decrease of 4.6% from the previous year. In terms of main products, the sales of silk fabrics, which accounted for 17% of the textile industry’s sales revenue, fell by 2%, the sales of wool fabrics and knitted fabrics, which accounted for about 1/2 of the textile industry’s sales revenue, fell by 4%, and the sales of cotton fabrics, which accounted for 31% of the textile industry’s sales revenue. Fabric sales fell 5.2%.
