India exports 10,000 tons of cotton yarn

In May, India exported 101,100 tons of cotton yarn (under HS: 5205), a month-on-month increase of 13.35% and a year-on-year increase of 87.70%, the highest value in a single month since January 2020. In the fiscal year 2020/21 (August-May), India exported 898,400 tons of cotton yarn, a year-on-year increase of 23% and a decrease of 7% compared with 2018/19. China and Bangladesh are still India’s largest cotton yarn exporters, accounting for a total of 50.57%.
