According to China Customs statistics, the national fabric export volume from January to September 2016 was US$39.48 billion, a decrease of 3.2%; the average export unit price was US$1.29/kg, a year-on-year decrease of 7.9%. The import value was US$4.15 billion, down 12%. The average unit price of imports was US$2.21/meter, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%.

Exports to Latin America and North America continued to decline, with export values ​​reaching US$3.24 billion and US$1.44 billion respectively, with declines of approximately 12.2% and 12.4% respectively.
