On December 26, 2014, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on the Chinese-made “CANTARANA” brand children’s suits. The notifying country in this case is Bulgaria. The children’s suit reported this time includes a top and pants, a two-piece set, suitable for children aged 7 to 14 years old; the top has a zipper and some character embroidery. The styles/models of the above children’s suits are: НХ-040, НХ-038, НХ-042. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development industry classification code (OECD Portal Category) is 67000000 (clothing).
The above-mentioned children’s suit can easily bring the risk of injury to children. The freely adjustable long rope attached to the waist of the pants of the children’s suit can easily bring the risk of injury to children when they are active. This product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN14682.
At present, the Bulgarian authorities have taken compulsory measures to withdraw this product from the market.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
