Bangladesh’s leather products exports grow, hides and leather exports fall

Due to the impact of the world economic recession and the falling prices of raw hides and leather in the international market, about 30% of Bangladesh’s raw hides and leather, or about 200 million square feet, failed to be sold in 2008. However, leather product exports increased by 38% from July to November 2008. The main exporting countries of Bangladeshi raw hides are Italy, Japan, South Korea, China, etc.
