From January to September, China’s clothing exports to Japan were US$12.9 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 12.02%. Among them, knitted garment exports were 1.32 billion pieces (sets), a year-on-year decrease of 13.62%, and the export volume was US$5.72 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 13.06%. The average price was US$4.32/piece (set), a year-on-year increase of 0.66%. The export of woven garments was 680 million pieces (sets), a year-on-year decrease of 9.17%. The export volume was US$5.6 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 11.68%. The average price was US$8.2/piece (set), a year-on-year decrease of 2.76%. The average export prices of woolen knitted garments and silk woven garments achieved rapid growth, increasing by 9.01% and 7% respectively.
5. Guangdong, Guangxi and Chongqing’s exports to Japan grew rapidly
From the perspective of export provinces and cities, from January to September, only Guangdong and Fujian, the main provinces and cities exporting to Japan, maintained growth, with an increase of 9.57% and 0.98% respectively. Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong and Shanghai all experienced a decrease of about 5%. ; Other provinces and cities’ exports to Japan generally declined, and most of the declines were greater than 15%. Guangxi, Chongqing and Yunnan’s exports to Japan grew rapidly, with increases of 28.67%, 14.29% and 23.94% respectively.
