In October 2015, Vietnam’s total retail sales of goods and consumer services turnover reached approximately VND 274.8 trillion, an increase of 6.7% compared with the same period last year. Among them, the turnover of retail goods reached VND 211 trillion, an increase of 9.9% over the same period last year; the turnover of catering and accommodation services reached VND 30.6 trillion, a decrease of 7%; the turnover of tourism reached VND 2.8 trillion, an increase of 25.9%; and other service industries Turnover reached 30.4 trillion VND, a decrease of 0.2%.
In the first 10 months of 2015, Vietnam’s total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue reached approximately VND 2,661.6 trillion, an increase of 9.6% compared with the same period last year (excluding price factors, an increase of 8.4%).
From an industry perspective, the retail sales of goods in the first 10 months of 2015 reached 2,026.2 trillion VND, an increase of 10.7% over the same period last year. Among them, the ones with better growth were: grain and food, which increased by 14.6%, and household equipment and Appliances grew by 12.7%, ready-made clothing grew by 12.1%, transportation vehicles grew by 9.8%, and educational and cultural items grew by 8.6%.
The turnover of catering and accommodation services reached 307.6 trillion VND, an increase of 5% compared with the same period last year. The turnover growth of major provinces and cities were: Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province 11.2%, Ho Chi Minh City 10.7%, Can Chi City 10.5%, Binh Thuan Province grew by 10.4% and Hanoi City grew by 5.5%.
