Cambodia’s garment exports continue to rise

The bilateral trade between Cambodia and the United States has maintained a continuous upward trend. In the first five months of this year (2015), the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and the United States reached US$1.375 billion, an increase of 4.6% compared with the same period in 2014.
Among them, Cambodia’s exports to the United States totaled US$1.222 billion, an increase of 2.8% from US$1.188 billion in the same period last year.
As for Cambodia’s total imports from the United States, it was US$153 million, an increase of 19% from US$126 million in the same period last year.
The main products Cambodia exports to the United States include textiles, shoes, and agricultural products, such as rice, while the main products imported from the United States include automobiles, medical equipment, and pharmaceuticals.
Cambodia’s main trading partners are the United States, the European Union, China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc.
Cambodia’s main export products are clothing, shoes, rubber, bicycles, sugar, cassava and rice, etc., and its main import products are automobiles, electrical appliances, medicine and medical equipment, building materials, mobile phones, clothing raw materials, food and beverages, medicines and cosmetics, etc.
