According to the latest statistics from Guangdong Zhanjiang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, from January to April this year, Guangdong ports imported 27,306 tons of cotton, a year-on-year decrease of 35%; the amount was 290 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 46%; the average import price was 10,800 yuan/ton, down 16%.
From January to April, cotton imports at Guangdong ports mainly showed the following characteristics: First, the monthly import volume continued to decrease, and the average import price oscillated at a low level; second, the trade method was mainly processing trade and general trade, and the proportion of general trade methods decreased; Third, Brazil has replaced India and the United States as the largest source of imports; fourth, private enterprises account for 50% of imports.
