Keqiao cross-border e-commerce export tax rebate is still blank
Last year, Keqiao District achieved a total export tax rebate amount of 8.948 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.46%. However, among such a huge amount of export tax rebates, cross-border e-commerce export tax rebates are blank. “Since last year, Document No. 96 issued by the State Administration of Taxation has clarified that cross-border e-commerce can enjoy export tax rebates. The Keqiao District Taxation Department has also launched relevant export tax rebate windows in a timely manner, but so far no company has come to handle this business.” The person in charge of the Keqiao District Taxation Bureau revealed.
It is understood that Keqiao e-commerce has developed well in the past two years, but it is mainly concentrated in the domestic market for home textiles, clothing, duvets and other products. As a major foreign trade area, e-commerce does not have enough role in promoting foreign trade, and the actual transaction volume of cross-border e-commerce accounts for a very small proportion of foreign trade exports.
“Nowadays, Keqiao foreign trade companies use e-commerce platforms to negotiate and exchange information quite frequently, but in the end transactions are mainly completed offline.” An operator of a textile foreign trade company in Hutang Street said that although the company has a presence in Ali International Station 3 platforms are used to conduct business with global customers, but the final transaction is still conducted offline. “Safety and low risk come first!” the operator said sharply.

“Because of the third-party guarantee, foreign trade companies are more bold in taking orders and can relax their pace.” Industry insiders told reporters that foreign trade companies are still looking forward to cross-border e-commerce as a new marketing channel. But because the risks are uncontrollable, you often have to think twice before leaping. But now that we have a credit guarantee, we have less worries about taking orders.
When foreign trade is in a downturn, many companies look forward to selling directly overseas through new formats such as cross-border e-commerce. Some insiders believe that in order to truly leverage the advantages of Keqiao’s foreign trade region, the professional market, in addition to establishing an e-commerce platform, should also actively play the role of credit guarantee to “protect” cross-border e-commerce.
