The project started in January 2013 and lasted for 36 months, with a budget of approximately 552 million West African CFA francs (approximately 842,000 euros). The project is 90% funded by the European Union and 10% by other donors, including funds from the Spanish city of Palencia.
The statement also stated that the EU will conduct marketing and promotion activities for dyed fabrics in Guinea-Bissau, Portugal, and Spain to support the export of Guinea-Bissau’s traditional dyed fabrics.
