According to a report by “Vietnam News” on November 8, Hong Kong TAL Group Co., Ltd. (TAL Group) will invest US$50 million to build a garment factory in Vinh Phuc Province in northern Vietnam. The project has obtained an investment license. The factory covers an area of 8 hectares, employs 3,500 workers, and has an annual output of 12 million shirts. It is expected to be put into production in September 2015. TAL Group entered Vietnam to invest in 2004. Its first project in Vietnam was the Viet-Mei Textile and Garment Factory in the northern province of Taiping with an investment of US$40 million. 90% of TAL Group’s products are exported to the United States, and it provides OEM production for brands such as Brooks Brothers and Rubber Republic.
