On June 15, 2017, the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) and LittleGiraffe jointly announced a voluntary recall of children’s blue robes made in China.
The recalled product is LuxeSatin children’s sleeveless robe. The robe is made of 43% acetate and 57% rayon, with a satin outer layer and a 100% polyester microfiber inner layer. The robe is available in pink, blue and cream in sizes XS-S for ages 4-6; MD-LG for ages 6-8; and XL-XXL for ages 8-10. The robe has two belt loops and a separate belt on each side. The label on the seam of the robe bears the batch number “21706-DFR001” and the words “Not recommended for pajamas.”
Approximately 2,000 units of the recalled products were sold in children’s product stores in the United States and the www.littlegiraffe.com online store from November 2012 to March 2017. The unit price is about $100. The reason for the recall is that the product does not meet the requirements of the US Federal Regulations on the Flammability Standards for Apparel and Textiles and poses a risk of burns. So far, no reports of accidents or personal injuries related to this product have been received.
