According to data from the Federal Bureau of Statistics of Pakistan, Pakistan’s cotton yarn exports in September were 62,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.7%, declining for thirteen consecutive months. The main reason is that China’s demand for foreign yarn is weakening.
As the monthly export volume of cotton yarn continues to decline, it will be difficult for Pakistan’s cotton yarn export volume to achieve a breakthrough in 2014. From January to September this year, Pakistan’s cotton yarn exports totaled 870,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 16.9%, the lowest level in three years. If this trend develops, the prospect of cotton consumption in Pakistan is very bad.
