The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has officially approved the opening of the cotton testing laboratory of Fujian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. This is the first import and export cotton testing laboratory in Fujian and is located in Shishi City. Many imported cotton merchants in Quanzhou have conducted inspections here, and the inspection time has been saved by nearly one month compared with before.
A cotton importer in Quanzhou revealed that after the laboratory opened for inspection, the company had tested 7 batches of cotton totaling 4,000 tons. Previously, there was no specialized laboratory for imported cotton in Fujian Province, and samples had to be sent to Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang and other places for inspection. “Express delivery costs are high and timeliness is also very poor.” It is reported that in the past, when sending samples to Guangdong, it took as fast as one month and as slow as one and a half months to get the test report. However, now Quanzhou companies go to Shishi for testing, and the report can be issued in only 2 to 3 days.
