According to reports, cotton is divided into long-staple cotton, medium-staple cotton and coarse-staple cotton. Among them, long-staple cotton is also called island cotton. It is native to South America and was later introduced to the southeastern coastal islands of North America. Because of its long, soft and long-staple fiber, It has white luster, good elasticity and excellent quality. Its market price is more than 1.6 times that of ordinary cotton. Compared with ordinary cotton, long-staple cotton has the characteristics of low output, high value, and high added value of its downstream products. It is reported that the main producing areas of long-staple cotton in the world are currently in Egypt, Sudan, CIS, the United States, Peru and Xinjiang of my country. Due to the influence of geographical location and growth environment, output is limited. The output of long-staple cotton in Xinjiang, China is about 70,000 tons, while the domestic annual demand is more than 150,000 tons, and is growing year by year.
