Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports increased by .% year-on-year

In May 2014, Vietnam’s cotton textile output was 27.8 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 2.21%, and a month-on-month decrease of 3.81%; polyester and man-made fiber textile output was 68.8 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 24.41%, and a month-on-month increase of 17.81%; ready-made garments Clothing output was 232 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 4.6% and a month-on-month decrease of 2.57%. It is estimated that in June 2014, the output of cotton textiles will be 28.2 million square meters, the output of polyester and man-made fiber textiles will be 75 million square meters, and the output of ready-made clothing will be 241.9 million pieces.
In May 2014, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports amounted to US$1.544 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.56% and a month-on-month decrease of 2.03%. Textile and apparel exports are expected to reach US$1.75 billion in June 2014.
As of May 2014, Vietnam’s cotton textile production has accumulated to 129.6 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 9%; polyester and man-made fiber textile production has reached 283.6 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 3.93%; ready-made clothing production has reached 1.155 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 12.28% .
As of May 2014, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports totaled US$7.586 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.78%.
