In May 2014, Pakistan exported US$1.2 billion in textiles and clothing, a year-on-year increase of 1.04% and a month-on-month increase of 13.78%. Among them, the export of raw cotton was US$76.3 million, a year-on-year decrease of 9.71% and a month-on-month decrease of 46.19%.
As of May, in the 2013/14 fiscal year (2013.7-2014.5), Pakistan exported US$12.68 billion in textiles and apparel, a year-on-year increase of 5.7%; and exported US$204 million in raw cotton, a year-on-year increase of 38.9%.
In May, Pakistan exported 49,300 tons of cotton yarn, a year-on-year decrease of 20.37%, which was the ninth consecutive year-on-year decrease this year; a month-on-month increase of 8.36%. Exports of cotton cloth were 133 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 15.93% and a month-on-month increase of 2.5%.
As of May, in the 2013/14 fiscal year (2013.7-2014.5), Pakistan exported 610,600 tons of cotton yarn, a year-on-year decrease of 8.28%; and exported 1.534 billion square meters of cotton cloth, a year-on-year decrease of 6.59%.
