Customs begins to copy and promote the supervision innovation system of Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone

A few days ago, news came from the General Administration of Customs that 14 innovative customs supervision systems in China’s Shanghai Free Trade Pilot Zone will be replicated and promoted in the special customs supervision areas of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from August, and will be gradually implemented in customs offices across the country in the next step. Copy and promote within special supervision areas and customs nationwide.
It is understood that Shanghai Customs released 14 regulatory innovation systems in April this year, including “advanced area, post-customs declaration”, “self-transportation”, “domestic sales selective taxation”, “centralized summary taxation”, etc. From the perspective of customs work, the overall operation of the pilot zone has been good since its establishment, and the dividends of system innovation have begun to show, effectively improving customs clearance efficiency and reducing logistics costs.
Sun Yibiao, deputy director of the General Administration of Customs, said that innovation in customs supervision must not only achieve safe and effective supervision and ensure control, but also promote customs clearance convenience in accordance with internationally accepted rules and aim at the internationally advanced level. The focus of building a free trade pilot zone is to provide the country with replicable and scalable reform experience through pilot reforms. It is an overall reform measure.
