Vietnam’s textile exports increased by .%

In the first half of this year, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports totaled approximately US$10.21 billion, an increase of 16.4% compared with the same period last year.
Currently, Vietnam’s main export markets for textiles and apparel include the United States, Europe, Japan and South Korea. Exports to these countries increased significantly in the first half of the year, with the United States increasing by 14.5%, Europe increasing by 11.3%, Japan increasing by 11.6%, and South Korea increasing by 30.1%. According to the “Vietnam Textile and Apparel Development Plan from 2011 to 2020”, the industry targets an annual growth rate of 12% to 14%, an export growth target of 15%, and an export target of US$18 billion in 2015 and US$25 billion in 2020. It plans to create 2.75 million and 3 million jobs in 2015 and 2020 respectively.
