Shenzhen clothing import customs clearance speeds up

A few days ago, news came from the Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that starting from June 23, the Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau will implement a large customs clearance plan for imported clothing, which will greatly improve the customs clearance efficiency of imported clothing and save costs for enterprises.
In order to speed up customs clearance and facilitate enterprises, the Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau recently issued the “Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau’s Customs Clearance Plan for Imported Clothing” and it will be implemented on June 23. According to the plan, clothing imported through processing with imported materials will be exempted from labeling and quality inspection; clothing imported through general trade will be subject to differentiated management. Among them, medium- and low-risk imported clothing will be inspected from the current 100% to an average of about 15 % of the inspection ratio; at the same time, based on the problem-oriented principle, follow-up inspection and supervision will be strengthened to ensure that the quality and safety of imported clothing is controllable.
The implementation of this plan will save enterprises a lot of time spent at the port and the cost of checking goods and taking out containers. Based on the 5,210 batches of imported clothing at Shenzhen Port in 2013, the average batch of goods stayed at the port for inspection for about 40 minutes, saving about 3,000 hours of port inspection time a year. In addition, for each inspection, the company needs to pay a container removal fee of 300 to the terminal. The fees range from RMB to RMB 500. The implementation of the plan can save enterprises RMB 2 million in cabinet removal costs per year.
