In the first five months, the import and export value of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region ranked seventh among the 12 western provinces and regions. The region’s general trade imports and exports were US$3.02 billion, an increase of 23.3%; border small trade imports and exports were US$1.47 billion, a decrease of 15.5%; inbound and outbound goods in bonded supervision sites were US$450 million, an increase of 4.6%; processing trade imports and exports were US$120 million, A 50% increase. Private enterprises took the leading role in import and export, while state-owned enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises increased slightly. Russia and Mongolia are the main trading partners. The import and export trade with Russia was US$1.28 billion, an increase of 14.3%; the export trade with Mongolia was US$1.24 billion, an increase of 10.7%. Except for textiles, all major export commodities increased to varying degrees. Exports of textiles and clothing (including textile yarns and their products) were US$260 million, a decrease of 13.3%.
