From January to April 2014, the national fabric import and export volume was US$18.333 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.08%. Among them, the export value was US$16.059 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.24%, and the export volume was 11.133 billion meters, a year-on-year increase of 2.63%. The average export unit price was 1.44 yuan/meter, a year-on-year increase of 1.58%. The import value was US$2.274 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 4.45%.
1. Fabric exports maintain growth
From January to April 2014, national fabric exports maintained growth. Exports to Asia were US$10.258 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.99%, of which exports to Cambodia, Pakistan and India increased by 33.79%, 21.31% and 13.51% respectively. Exports to the EU increased by 15.4% year-on-year, of which exports to Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany increased by 36.66%, 29.33% and 18% respectively. Exports to Africa increased by 9.4% year-on-year, of which Kenya, Gambia and Nigeria increased by 24.95%, 24.02% and 14.28% respectively. Exports to Latin America increased by 6.06% year-on-year, of which exports to Colombia, Nicaragua and Mexico increased by 40.05%, 30.07% and 14.26% respectively.
2. Fabric exports from major provinces and cities maintain growth
There are 31 provinces and cities in the country exporting fabrics, and exports of 11 provinces and cities declined. The export value of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shandong on the southeast coast increased by 11.05%, 9.05% and 5.09% respectively year-on-year. The export value of Guangxi, Ningxia, Gansu and Chongqing in other regions increased by 247%, 149%, 88.74% and 85.13% respectively year-on-year.

1. Exports of products subject to Turkish safeguard measures from January to April 2014
From January to April 2014, China’s textile and apparel exports to Turkey were US$719 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.12%, accounting for 0.88% of China’s total global textile and apparel exports, ranking 31st in China’s single export market. Among them, the export value of products under safeguard measures was US$300 million, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%, accounting for 41.72% of China’s total textile and apparel exports to Turkey.
Among the products subject to safeguard measures, fabric exports were US$156 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.84%, accounting for 51.87% of China’s total exports of products subject to safeguard measures to Turkey. From January to April 2014, China’s textile and apparel exports to Indonesia were US$1.504 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.24%, accounting for 1.84% of China’s total global textile and apparel exports. Ranked 15th in China’s single export market, among which, the export value of products (fabrics) subject to safeguard measures was US$16.17 million, a year-on-year decrease of 40.09%, accounting for 1.07% of China’s total textile and apparel exports to Indonesia.
