Victor Yevtukhov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, said that by 2020, the proportion of innovative products in Russia’s light industry should account for 46%, and the output value of imported substitute goods will exceed 500 billion rubles. Russia’s textile and apparel production grew by 5% in 2013 and by 7% in the first quarter of 2014, the first time in the last two years that such growth has been achieved. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade believes that it is necessary to promote Russian fashion designers to the international market and create conditions for designers to carry out their work.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia pointed out that currently, Russian clothing production is changing for the better. First, production in Southeast Asia is no longer cheap; second, Russia has developed a mechanism to increase the attractiveness of light industry investment, and the state supports the industry. Russia is also actively cooperating with foreign countries and will continue to actively negotiate with Asian countries.
