The proportion of exports of textile and apparel small and medium-sized enterprises further shrinks

Since 2011, the export share of large-scale textile and apparel foreign trade companies has continued to increase, while small and medium-sized foreign trade companies have further shrunk. In 2011, the export share of small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises accounted for 71.5%. In 2013, the proportion was only 67.91%, a decrease of 3.6 percentage points in two years. In the first quarter of this year, the proportion of small and medium-sized enterprises continued to decline, reaching 67.21%. Data shows that the polarization between large enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises is becoming increasingly serious. It is understood that in recent years, under the environment of weak external demand, the rising costs of domestic textile and clothing raw materials and labor, the transfer of low-end goods to Southeast Asia, and the lack of technology and funds of small and medium-sized enterprises have seriously restricted the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
