As of the Canton Fair, textile and apparel sales dropped by .%

According to news from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles, as of May 4, the textile and apparel export turnover of this Canton Fair was US$1.74 billion, a decrease of 22.5% compared with last year’s Spring Fair. Except for cotton yarn, wool yarn, chemical fiber cloth and linen gauze, which had a relatively large increase, all other major commodities decreased.
Transactions in major markets generally decreased. Among them, the transaction volume to Europe was US$640 million, a decrease of 22% year-on-year; the United States was US$260 million, a decrease of 23.9%; the transaction volume to Japan was US$77.249 million, a decrease of 11.3%; the transaction volume to other Asia was US$380 million, a decrease of 21.3%; the transaction volume to Africa was US$80.797 million, down 15.7%.
At present, export companies are still facing many difficulties, such as high raw material costs, tightening of macro-monetary policies, exacerbating financing difficulties, etc. They hope that the country will improve cotton industry policies as soon as possible, provide financial support for enterprise transformation and upgrading, and speed up the tax refund cycle.
