– Japan’s textile and apparel imports from ASEAN are growing rapidly

WTA data shows that from January to November 2013, Japan imported US$41.73 billion in textiles and clothing from the world, a continued decline, a decrease of 1.47%. Among them, imports from China were US$29.44 billion, a decrease of 3.99%, higher than the 0.08% decrease of the previous year, and their share of the import market further dropped to 70.6%. Among the top ten import source countries, Vietnam and Bangladesh have the largest increases, at around 15%. Among them, Vietnam’s market share has risen to 6.6%.
