The American Textile and Apparel Association calls on the government to amend the African Opportunity and Growth Act as soon as possible

A few days ago, many textile and garment associations in the United States requested the U.S. government to extend the period for South Africa to enjoy the African Opportunity and Growth Act (Agoa). They believe that the products exported to the United States through Agoa are also important to many American workers. It is best that Agoa be revised within the year. Failure to revise Agoa in time will have serious consequences for trade and employment between the United States and Africa.
