If it can sign a free trade agreement with the United States and Europe, the tariffs on Indonesian textiles entering these two markets will be reduced from the current 12-16% to 0-5%, which will significantly increase Indonesian textile exports. . In view of this, the Indonesian Textile Industry Association urges the government to sign a free trade agreement with the United States and Europe as soon as possible. Ade said that the United States had made a proposal to the Indonesian government to sign the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement, but for some reason it was not adopted. Vietnam’s textile exports to the United States and Europe have increased year by year in the past 10 years. In 2000, Vietnam’s textile exports to the United States ranked far behind the 10th place, and Indonesia ranked 5th. Now Vietnam has risen to 2nd place, and Indonesia has dropped to 6th place.
