Mexico hopes to resolve China textile subsidy dispute as soon as possible

During the meeting, officials from both sides agreed to increase trade and investment between the two countries, stressing the importance of supporting business delegations in opening up new areas of economic and commercial cooperation.
In October 2012, Mexico filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO), accusing the Chinese government of subsidizing the textile and apparel manufacturing industry, which resulted in unfair competition between China’s textile and apparel industries and the Mexican textile and apparel industry.
