Pakistan’s textile and apparel exports grow

According to a report by Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper on June 21, Pakistan’s exports in the first 11 months of the 2012/13 fiscal year reached US$22.321 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.88%. Among them, the export of textile and clothing products reached US$11.931 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6%. Among them, the export of garment products and towel products increased significantly, with a year-on-year increase of 12.58% and 15.52%.
It is reported that there are two reasons for the increase in Pakistan’s textile product exports: First, since September 2012, the European and American markets have gradually warmed up. In particular, the European Union has granted Pakistan preferential import treatment for 75 products, and the international market demand for Pakistan’s textile products has continued to increase. Second, since the 2012-13 fiscal year, the Pakistani government has increased the power and energy supply guarantee for the textile sector, which has promoted the output of textile enterprises to increase.
