Polish clothing and footwear retail sales increased by .%

Recently, data released by the Polish Bureau of Statistics showed that retail sales in Poland fell by 0.2% in April, which was far lower than market expectations of a 1.1% increase. Sales of fuel products, food and beverages, and tobacco products decreased by 8% and 3.6% respectively; while sales of automobiles and clothing and footwear products increased by 5.8% and 11.6% respectively. At the same time, the country’s unemployment rate fell by 0.3 percentage points this month to 14%, slightly worse than market expectations of falling to 13.9%.
