On April 30, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Health Canada and Gap jointly announced a voluntary recall of baby swimsuits produced in China and Indonesia.

The baby swimsuits recalled this time are made of nylon elastic fabric. There are 2 styles in total, namely blue and white (style number 706260) and pink and white (style number 700452). They are suitable for babies under 24 months old. Style The number is on the swimsuit tag. This baby swimsuit has been sold in the United States from February to April 2010, with a unit price of US$17-20 per piece.

The number of products recalled this time is approximately 6,983 (approximately 6,500 in the United States and approximately 483 in Canada). The reason for the recall is that the ties of the swimsuit are too short, causing the plastic ring at the neckline to compress the baby’s throat, posing a risk of strangulation due to difficulty breathing. So far, Gap has received 2 consumer complaints and there have been no personal injuries.

For this reason, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada recommend that consumers immediately stop using the recalled baby swimsuits and contact the retail store or Gap Company for returns and full refunds.
