Guhar said that Pakistan Natural Gas Supply Company’s unauthorized increase in the weekly gas supply suspension time from 2 days to 4 days was the main reason for the large number of textile companies to close. If this situation continues, the industry is expected to suffer greater losses. Guhar called on the government and relevant departments to strictly implement the “Five-Year Development Policy for the Textile Industry” to help textile companies tide over the difficulties and strive to achieve the goal of textile exports of US$25 billion in 2014.
