Vietnam proposes textile and apparel export target of US$100 million

According to Vietnam’s “Youth Daily”, Le Quoc En, chairman of the Vietnam Textile Association, said that Vietnam’s textile and clothing exports in 2009 were approximately US$9.1 billion. At present, orders obtained by Vietnamese companies from the two major markets of the United States and the European Union are showing signs of rapid recovery. Vietnam has proposed a textile and apparel export target of US$10-10.5 billion in 2010, a year-on-year increase of approximately 12%.
