According to data released by the customs, the total value of textile and apparel exports in November 2009 was US$13.96 billion, a decrease of 9.5%. Among them, textile exports were US$5.366 billion, an increase of 7.4%; clothing exports were US$8.593 billion, a decrease of 17.6%.
Textile and clothing exports in November fell by 4.7% compared with October, with textiles increasing by 1.4% and clothing falling by 8.2%.
From January to November, the cumulative exports of textiles and clothing were US$150.25 billion, down 11.4%. Among them, textile exports were US$53.76 billion, down 11.2%; clothing exports were US$96.49 billion, down 11.6%.
The decline in textile and clothing exports in November was slightly narrower than that in October. The export of textiles was better than that of clothing. Exports in that month all achieved positive growth year-on-year and month-on-month.
