1. Overview
Since there are many types of rapier heads, the specific usage methods of each rapier head are different, but the precautions in their use are basically the same. The quality of their use will directly affect the quality of the fabric. The damage is related to the consumption of mechanical materials. The quality of the rapier head is not only related to the manufacturing, assembly quality and daily maintenance of the rapier head itself, but also related to the adjustment of the rapier head of the whole machine (stroke, release plate, guide hook , air suction device, rapier belt installation, etc.), in order to cooperate with the majority of users to use the rapier head correctly and correctly judge the latitudinal faults related to the rapier head, you should carefully refer to the precautions when setting up the rapier head.
2. Things to note before machine-making the rapier head
(1) Check with your hands and visually whether the appearance of the rapier head is smooth and whether there are waste edges, burrs, or cracks.
(2) Use yarn to simulate the warp passing through the back of the sword head, and there should be no yarn hooking.
(3) Open the opening and closing device and the yarn pressure plate by hand, simulate the working state of the release plate, and check whether the opening and closing of the sword head is flexible and there is no feeling of stagnation.
(4) Before installing the sword belt, first use No. 400 sandpaper to smooth all the burr sharp edges of the sword belt and sword head (including the base plate) (but do not grind too much), and then use No. 800 fine gauze paper to polish them smooth again. Make all parts in contact with the warp and weft yarns free of burrs to avoid hooking the warp and weft yarns.
(5) Fix the sword head on the sword belt with screws. In order to make the screw easy to screw in, soak the screw in oil first. After the sword head and sword belt are fixed, make sure that the two sword heads are at the same level when viewed from the side. (Figure 13-1), if the installation is not accurate and the rapier head is tilted, the rapier head will be worn in the longitudinal direction or the weft insertion will not be possible.
(6) When replacing a new sword head on an old sword belt that has been used, you must pay attention to check the wear of the sword belt and replace it according to the requirements of the main engine manufacturer. For example, the SM93 loom stipulates that when the width of the sword belt has been reduced by 0.5mm, the thickness has been reduced by 0.5mm, and the width between the two tooth holes has been reduced by 2mm, a new sword belt must be replaced before a new sword head can be replaced. For example, the FAST loom (Figure 13-3) stipulates that the thickness H of the sword belt at the maximum wear point cannot be thinner than 1.0mm, and the length F of the sword belt hole must not exceed 5.25mm.
3. Precautions after the sword head is machined
(1) When adjusting the position of the left opening and closing plate A of the left sword head, pay attention to the fact that when the left sword head passes, the pressing plate can be opened 1mm only. to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on the left rapier head, as shown in Figure 13-4.
(3) The adjustment of the heald frame and heald leveling time will also directly affect the service life of the rapier head. If the heald frame leveling time is too early, the lower warp yarn will have lifted the rapier head when it leaves the weaving mouth. , causing the sword head to wear out early, so the flat heddle should be delayed slightly, but the specific time will be determined according to the regulations of the host of fabric varieties.
(4) The correct installation and adjustment of the guide hook directly affects the service life of the sword head and sword belt. The user must install and replace the guide hook according to the main engine manufacturer’s maintenance instructions.
(5) The working channel of the rapier head formed by the movable guide rail and the fixed guide rail. The straightness adjustment is good or bad, and the optimal distance between the fixed guide rail and the reed (preferably 2mm) directly affects the rapier head. The life span of the sword belt, the specific adjustment method shall be carried out according to the commissioning instructions of the OEM
.
In order to ensure the normal use of the rapier head, maintenance workers must check the straightness of the track with regular rules every month. You should always check the free sliding of the sword head and sword belt in the track and the lateral gap between the sword belt and the guide rail. The gap should be as small as possible, and adjust it according to the instructions on the machine, or pull out the sword head and sword belt to observe the wear of the sword head. condition, promptly replace damaged parts on the sword head (such as springs, screws, openers, base plates, etc.).
(6) Pay attention to the wear and tear of the rapier head with a base plate, and replace it regularly according to the instructions. If not replaced, the rapier head will be damaged quickly, making it difficult to hand over the weft yarn, and the right rapier head may even hit the guide hook, causing weaving accidents. When replacing the bottom plate, it is best to replace the screws with new ones, or install the screws that were originally installed at this position. Do not install them incorrectly.
4. Rapier head weft insertion failure analysis table
During the weaving process, weft faults such as errors in the handover of the left and right rapier heads often occur. The reasons are various, some are adjustment problems, and some are problems with the rapier head itself. Now we will comprehensively summarize the situation. See Table 13-3.
