The other set of weft yarns (called pile weft) interweaves with the warp yarns. The interweaving forms regular floating wefts, which form velvet strips after cutting. The weave of corduroy can be plain weave, twill weave or weft heavy plain weave. When the plain weave is a ground weave, it is easy to cut the pile, the fabric has the highest breaking strength and the most interweaving points, which also limits the density of the weft yarns. The finished product feels hard and the back of the fabric is prone to hair loss when rubbed. At present, plain weave changes are mostly used in production, including single warp protective layer and double warp protective layer, which can not only improve the hair removal phenomenon but also do not need to increase the weft density, but only need to increase Pj appropriately. With twill weave as the ground weave, there are fewer interweaving points, Pw can be increased, and the members feel soft, but delinting is prone to occur on the front of the fabric.
