On May 19-20, the Hubei Province Sericulture Standardized Production Technology Training Course was held in Yiling District. At the same time, it is necessary to face up to the problems and make up for the shortcomings in the development of the sericulture industry. The “14th Five-Year Plan” period is a critical period for my country’s sericulture industry to transform from tradition to modernity. All localities and departments must further clarify their development ideas and promote the highquality development of the sericulture industry. The first is to increase policy support to provide guarantee for the creation of the entire sericulture, cocoon and silk industry chain; the second is to accelerate technological innovation and achieve transformation and upgrading to modern production methods; the third is to accelerate diversified development , expand the application fields of sericulture cocoon silk; fourth, strengthen leading enterprises and realize an industrialized business model. Bao Jiangfeng, director of the Provincial Fruit Tea Office, requires all localities to adhere to scientific guidance, highlight characteristics according to local conditions, diversify development to enhance comprehensive benefits, and steadily promote the development of Hubei’s sericulture industry.
This training invited researcher Yu Cui and Dr. Mo Rongli of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences’ Institute of Economics to give lectures on the “Current Status and Trends of the Development of the Sericulture Industry” and “The Efficient Development Model of the Integration of Fruit and Mulberry Agriculture and Tourism” respectively. Yiling District, Yangxin County, Yunyang District, Yunxi County, Yingshan County and other key sericulture counties made exchange speeches. During the training, the representatives visited the production and processing base of Yichang Yingang Silkworm Technology Co., Ltd. and the Three Gorges Sericulture Cultural Industrial Park. Everyone agreed that the training was rich in content, strengthened confidence in the development of the sericulture industry, and pointed out the direction for future industrial development.
