On May 19, the 3rd Council of the 11th Hubei Sericulture Society was held in Yichang. More than 20 directors and representatives from sericulture authorities, scientific research and production units in relevant counties and cities across the province attended the meeting. Researcher Zhao Kunsong, deputy director of the Provincial Fruit and Tea Office, researcher Wu Hui, chairman of the Provincial Sericulture Society, researcher Chen Dengsong, deputy chairman, and researcher Yu Cui attended the meeting. The heads of Yiling District Agricultural Technology Service Center and related enterprises attended the meeting.
The meeting summarized the work of the Provincial Sericulture Society in 2021 from the aspects of industrial science and technology services, academic activities, and party building work of the society, and reported the work of the Hubei Association for Science and Technology and the Chinese Sericulture Society in 2021. All participating directors conducted working exchanges on the development status, existing problems and suggestions of the local sericulture industry.
The meeting pointed out that the sericulture industry is my country’s traditional advantageous industry. The development of the sericulture industry in Hubei Province should highlight the cultivation of new industrial entities, deepen diversified development, and expand the space for industrial development.
