Swedish footwear and clothing sales fall for consecutive months

Looking at the whole year, clothing sales fell by 17.8% year-on-year, and footwear sales fell by 31.4% year-on-year. Mats Hedenström, director of business policy at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the epidemic has been in Sweden for nine months and has led to a continued decline in footwear and clothing sales, which is simply a disaster. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry believes that if the industry does not receive additional support, thousands of jobs will be at risk. The industry group plans to hold a meeting with Enterprise and Innovation Minister Ibrahim Baylan to seek support.
