On December 2, Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Sheikh chaired a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, which approved the Ministry of Commerce’s proposal to cancel the 5% adjustment tax on imported cotton yarn until June 30, 2021.
Sheikh said the removal of regulatory duty on imported cotton yarn will boost exports of the garment sector and is in line with the policy of getting more value-added exports. The decision was submitted to the Cabinet for approval implemented later.
